Myth 1 – Acne Causes Diet
This is by far the most popular myth about Acne. In fact, it was such a popular myth that extensive scientific studies were undergone to see if it was true. The studies all came out with the same results - there is no connection found between a person’s diet and acne. This includes French Fries, pizza, chocolate, candy and many other greasy foods. Of course, we wouldn’t recommend that you eat unhealthy food all the time as its not good for your overall health.
Myth 2 – Stress Causes Acne
Ordinary day-to-day stress is not an important factor of Acne. In some cases those that experience severe stress and require medical attention may be treated with drugs that can have adverse effects such as acne.
Myth 3 – Poor Hygiene Causes Acne
In the past people have made claims stating that acne is caused by poor hygiene. Many people took this to heart and began to wash their skin vigorously and frequently and as an end result people’s Acne became worse. While excess oils, dead skin and dirt on the surface of your skin may not look pleasant they should not be removed by rough scrubbing of your face
